KDDI and East Japan Railway Company will provide “povo Data Oasis” to users of “Japan SIM”, an eSIM service for foreign visitors to Japan, at 21 target stations in East Japan Railway Company. The service will be available for a limited time starting December 11.
povo Data Oasis is a program that allows users to access a special site at certain locations to receive free data that can be used with povo2.0. 0.5GB per day and up to 5GB per month (10 times in total) will be granted at participating stations in JR East.
The campaign targets 21 stations in total: Aomori, Akita, Morioka, Yamagata, Sendai, Fukushima, Utsunomiya, Niigata, Echigo-Yuzawa, Gala-Yuzawa, Iiyama, Nagano, Karuizawa, Otsuki, Kamakura, Mito, Airport Terminal 2, Narita Airport, Takanawa Gateway, Tokyo and Shinjuku (Gala-Yuzawa Station will be open from December 13).
Japan SIM can also be purchased through a dedicated link on the “Welcome Suica Mobile” application provided by East Japan Railway Company for foreign visitors to Japan.
