On December 8, Nishimatsu Construction and Hotel Okura announced plans to open Okura Resort Hakone Gora (Gora, Hakone-cho, Ashigarashita-gun, Kanagawa Prefecture) in 2029. Nishimatsu Corporation will develop and own the land and building, and Hotel Okura will manage the property. This will be the first hotel under the Okura Resort brand in Japan.

Access is approximately 5 minutes by car from Gora Station on the Hakone Tozan Railway and a 3-minute walk from Naka Gora Station on the Hakone Tozan Cable Car. In summer, the Hakone Gora Onsen Daimonji Yaki, one of the three major festivals in Hakone, can be viewed from the front of the building.

Taking advantage of the sloping location, two buildings, the west wing (3 floors below ground and 3 floors above ground) and the east wing (4 floors above ground), will be developed. The total floor area is 9650.84m2, with a total of 58 rooms (12 in the west wing and 46 in the east wing).

The standard guest room area is approximately 63m2 including the balcony, with a spacious design with a frontage of 6m. The balcony is equipped with an open-air bath with Owakudani hot spring water, which is known as “hot water for beautiful skin.

In addition, a large public bath with a view and a sense of openness is equipped with a dry sauna and a mist sauna. The restaurant features a fine dining area with a teppanyaki counter, and the lobby has a bar and lounge, offering a high quality retreat stay in close proximity to the nature of Gora.
