On December 12, Awajiya announced that it will begin accepting orders for “EXPO 2025 Myakmyaku Hippippadako Meshi,” an ekiben featuring Myakmyaku, the official character of the Osaka-Kansai Expo, in its design. The first batch (for delivery and pickup from April 13 to 17 and 20 to 24, 2026) will be available for pre-order from December 17 at 19:00.
The Myakumyak Hittari Meshi has been well received and is expected to be sold out by the end of January 2026, although additional production has been available since November 20, 2011. Since it will take a certain period of time to produce additional special pots (jars), the company plans to begin “make-to-order” sales in April to ensure that those who wish to purchase the product will have the opportunity to do so as soon as possible.
The first round of reservations will begin at 7:00 p.m. on December 17 for both the Awaji-ya in-store order site and the Awaji-ya online store, but the company is also considering accepting reservations for May and June orders. Depending on the situation, general sales may resume before the start of delivery and pickup of orders.
They also asked that individual inquiries be discouraged, as the latest information will be posted on the official website and SNS.
