JR Kyushu will complete the demonstration test of the credit card touch payment boarding service and move to the full-scale introduction of the service on April 1, 2026.
The experiment started in 2022. The experiment is scheduled to continue until March 31, 2026, while expanding the number of compatible brands and stations.
With the completion of the experiment, available lines will be concentrated in the Fukuoka area. Touch-sensitive payment service in the Oita area (Nippo Main Line and Hisada Main Line) and Kagoshima area (Ibusuki-makurazaki Line) will be terminated on March 31.
Meanwhile, the company also announced the lines that will be added to the service coverage after the fall of 2026. On the Kashii Line, only two stations, Kashii and Uminonakamichi, are available, but all lines and stations will be covered by the service from the fall. Similarly, all stations on the Wakamatsu Line and Fukuhoku Yutaka Line will be able to use the touch-settlement service.
There will be no change in the brands supported by the new system or the method of entry/exit, and the history can still be checked on the Q-move website.
