YAMBARU GATEWAY PARK has decided on the name “Akemi Oterasu” for the complex facility it is promoting as part of the “21st Century Forest Park Area Utilization Promotion Project. In addition, some of the tenants scheduled to move in were also disclosed. It is scheduled to open in March 2026.
The facility will be located in the 21st Century Forest Park (2-1-25 Onan, Nago City, Okinawa Prefecture) under the Park-PFI (Publicly-Funded Facilities Initiative) system. The name was submitted by elementary school students in Nago City and is derived from an old Okinawan song, “Omorosaushi,” and incorporates the phrase “Akemio,” which is also used symbolically by the city.
The facility is divided into three areas from the beach to Route 58. In the “Beach Activity Zone” along the ocean, Marine Club Berry will offer marine sports activities. Higashi Shokudo (Nago soba and zenzai) and Starbucks Coffee will be open as food and beverage outlets.
In the “Hilltop Zone,” which will include a “hillside wing” for weddings, Dears Brain, a ceremony and restaurant company, will open a store. The “Roadside & Forest Zone” will feature takeout stores, etc. The tenants will be disclosed in the future.
