Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed a Loan Agreement (L/A) with the Government of the Kingdom of Morocco on November 20 in Rabat, the capital of the Kingdom of Morocco, for the “Agricultural Water Improvement Project in the Southeastern Gharb Plain Area”. The Loan Agreement (L/A) was signed by Mr. Fawzi Lukjaa, Minister of Economy, Finance and Budget of the Kingdom of Morocco, and Mr. Kei Toyama of JICA Middle East and Europe Department.

This project aims to improve the efficiency of water resource use and increase and stabilize agricultural production by constructing agricultural trunk canals, pumping stations, and other facilities and procuring equipment for ancillary facilities in the Garb area, thereby contributing to the promotion of agricultural development adapted to climate change in the country.
