Seibu Railway unveiled the design of the new train to be introduced on the Yamaguchi Line (Leoliner) as the first train is completed.
The name of the series is “L00 series” (Leo kei). The “L” comes from the Saitama Seibu Lions (Lions), Seibuen Yuenchi (Leisure), and Lake Tama (Lake), and the “00” comes from the image of the infinite possibilities (∞) of the line.
The plan is to introduce three 4-car trains, one for each year from FY2025 to FY2027, for a total of three trains with 12 cars. The first train is scheduled to be put into service in March 2026.
The exterior of the first train is based on white and silver colors, with the “Leo Liner” nickname on the front and the Lions logo on the sides. The company says that future train configurations will be discussed separately by group employees.
While the car interior is based on long seats, the seats immediately behind the crew quarters are set up as “kids SEAT” seats. Intermediate cars are equipped with showcases. An LCD display is installed above the passenger doors.
