Odakyu Electric Railway has decided to design the “New Romance Car,” which is scheduled to enter service in March 2029, as an 80000 type, with seven cars and bogie bogies.
The development concept is “Kirameki Run, Romance Car. Aiming to connect people, regions, and nature, the theme will be “water” and the car body will be designed in a light blue color.
At the front and rear of the train are observation cars with large glass windows that look like drops of water. The connecting section of the cars will be accented with vermilion orange, a traditional color of the train. The train will also feature multiple seating options to suit different purposes and moods, as well as large windows with views of the rich natural scenery along the train line.
