Osaka Metro (Osaka City Rapid Transit) has introduced low-floor cars on its Midosuji Line, which have a smaller difference in level between the platform and the entrance to the car than before. As a result, wheelchair users will be able to get on and off the train independently from November 22.
The low-floor cars will be incorporated into Cars 3, 5, and 8 of the 10-car train. Large signs will be posted on the movable platform railings where the low-floor cars will stop, to make them easier to understand. In addition, the electric signboard at the ticket gate and the e METRO application will display a special pictogram of the non-lower-floor carriages to make it easier to identify whether the arriving train is a low-floor car or not.
Station employees will continue to provide assistance if requested.
