Fukuoka International Airport will open a duty-free confectionery and food area on the 3rd floor of the international terminal building on November 18, and will renovate the boarding area on December 20. With these renovations, the international terminal building expansion and remodeling work that has been underway since May 2022 will be completed.
The duty-free confectionery and food area will utilize the site of the former duty-free store in the boarding area on the 3rd floor (after passing through the security checkpoint). The area will be approximately 3 times larger (approx. 810 m2) than the previous area by consolidating the two temporary confectionery/food areas.
The area has eight sections dedicated to famous confections popular among inbound customers, such as Tokyo Banana, Lutao, and Hakata Meigai Hiyoko. The number of products handled will be greatly expanded to 14 new brands, including famous confections and food products originating from Fukuoka such as Kuhara Honke and Chiroian, and online reservations for duty-free items will be reopened.
