The Tokyo Metropolitan Transportation Bureau and Adachi Ward will operate a temporary free direct one-way bus service between Ekita Station and Nippori Station from December 22 to March 27, 2026.
This is a demonstration experiment to reduce congestion on the Nippori-Toneri Liner, with three runs per day during the morning rush hours. Each train departs from Ekita Station at 7:00, 7:25, and 7:45 a.m., respectively. The buses will arrive at Nippori Station in about 30 minutes, passing through Nishi-Nippori Station on the way.
Eligible users include those who use commuter passes, the Tokyo Silver Pass, the Toei Transportation Free Pass, or the Toei Transportation Pass for the Mentally Disabled and use the Nippori-Toneri Liner section between Minuma-dai Chinsui Koen Station, Toneri Station, Toneri En Station, Yazaike Station, Nishiarai Daishi Nishi Station, Ekita Station – Nishi Nippori Station, and Nippori Station on a daily basis.
A special user card is required to use the system, which will be issued to the first 700 users on a limited basis between November 25 and March 13, 2026, via the Adachi Ward online application system.
