Amazon Furusato Tax, in which approximately 1,000 local governments nationwide participate, has features such as next-day delivery of some returns as soon as possible, exclusive returns only available on Amazon, and a selection of small returns starting from 1,000 yen.
Amazon (Amazon Japan) has updated its ranking of the popularity of hometown tax returns. The period of the survey was from November 2 to 8, 2012.
Only “48 days” left until the 2025 homeowners’ tax deadline.
No. 1 on the list is the “Kyushu Kuroge Wagyu Beef Hamburger, 140g x 12 pieces” from Karatsu, Saga Prefecture, which also tops the overall ranking. The ground beef hamburger is a combination of six parts of Kyushu black wagyu beef (loin, cutlet, belly, thigh, shank, and neck) and pork from Kyushu, and each 140g is individually packaged in a frozen package. The donation amount is 12,000 yen.
Second place went to “Beef tongue, thick cut, 500g x 2” from Mizukami-mura, Kumamoto Prefecture. The beef tongue is about 10mm thick and is vacuum-packed (frozen) in 500g portions, with the tender and fatty tongue meat being the main and middle parts. The donation amount is 14,000 yen.
Third place went to “Kyushu Kuroge Wagyu Beef Cut-offs, 400g x 2” from Shizuoka City, Shizuoka Prefecture. The beef was purchased by a meat processing wholesaler in Shizuoka, and was made up of various cuts of beef, including ude, belly, and other sashi (sinewy parts). It is said to be equivalent to 5 to 8 servings of sukiyaki. The donation amount is 9,000 yen.
