Three NEXCO companies plan to install EV quick chargers from FY2024 to FY2025. Off-road charger rate adjustment system to be introduced this fiscal year.

NEXCO East Japan, NEXCO Central Japan, and NEXCO West Japan have announced their forecast for the development of EV quick chargers at SA/PAs from FY2024 to FY2025.

The number of recharging stations is expected to exceed 1,000 by the end of FY2025, with plans to add 148 stations at 119 SA/PAs in FY2024 and 185 stations at 114 SA/PAs in FY2025.

In addition, a toll adjustment system for the use of off-highway rechargers and a new billing and settlement system are under study with the aim of sequentially implementing these systems starting in FY2024. The fee adjustment system is also intended to eliminate “blank sections” where the distance between rechargers is approximately 70 km or more, and preparations will be made to introduce the system at “Roadside Station Palette Pia Ono” in conjunction with the extension of the Tokai Ring Expressway in FY2024.
