Moomin Valley Park to Feature Magic Stick to Play with “Inextinguishable Soap Bubbles”? Introducing a lineup of early-summer limited edition umbrella sky goods “Moomin Valley and Umbrellas” starting April 19.

Moomin Story will hold the Early Summer event “Moomin Valley and Umbrella” at Moomin Valley Park (327-6 Miyazawa, Hanno, Saitama), themed on Scandinavian life, from April 19 to July 7.

This year marks the 5th anniversary of the park’s opening, and the “Umbrella Sky” that decorates the promenade by Lake Miyazawa has expanded in scale. The sky overhead will be filled with countless colorful umbrellas, doubling in size from last year to approximately 200 meters. Combined with soap bubbles shimmering in the wind, visitors can enjoy a cool and photogenic early summer stroll.

Even more noteworthy are the event’s limited-edition food and merchandise, which will go on sale on April 19. In keeping with this year’s “Moominmamma” themed decoration design, the lineup includes items in warm colors that evoke the gentle Moominmamma, such as her familiar red apron and the roses that she carefully nurtures.

The “Mama no Tsukuru Pancake – Umbrella” (1,800 yen), decorated with a parasol, uses sweet and sour raspberry sauce to recreate the red stripes on the apron. The fluffy batter is topped with plenty of cream and fruit, and the plate is also sprinkled with cute pastel-colored marshmallows.

Umbrella soft serve ice cream (600 yen) is refreshing and has a chocolate decoration featuring a rose motif. Vanilla and mixed flavors are also available, and you can choose from savory cones or Moomin-designed cups.

In addition, “Semura – Umbrella” (500 yen), a round bread sandwich with melon cream that resembles the green leaves of a rose, “Orange Tea with Mom’s Kindness” (700 yen), which has a fun tapioca texture, and “Moomin Valley and Umbrella” limited edition art latte (700 yen) are available at the park’s restaurants and cafe. The “Moomin Valley and the Umbrella

Soap bubble sticks” (2,530 yen) will make their first appearance as limited edition goods. When the stick is held between the hands and rotated, a rainbow-colored band of glitter floats up like a soap bubble, and can be enjoyed at night when it glows with a light.

Also recommended are the “Aurora Borealis Acrylic Charms” (900 yen), in which you won’t know what you will get until you open the package. These large charms depict Moomin and his friends on a rainbow-like aurora borealis-colored acrylic plate, and are available in a total of 9 types (8 types + 1 secret type) in blind packages.

Other “Moomin Valley and Umbrellas” limited edition goods include postcards, hand-held balloons, and umbrella markers. There are also a variety of other goodies that make great scattering gifts, such as strawberry cookies (15 cookies) and crunch and chocolate assortments (14 cookies in total).
