On March 27, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government announced that it had begun work on Auxiliary Route 74 (Waseda Street) from Mototenuma 2-chome to Shimoigusa 5-chome in Suginami Ward.

The area covers 1165m from the intersection of “Hontenuma 2-chome” where it intersects with Tokyo Route 25 running north-south near Shimoigusa Station to the intersection of “Shimizu 3-chome” where it intersects with KANpachi (Ring 8).

In addition to widening the current roadway from 11m to 15m wide, sidewalks and bicycle lanes will be constructed on both sides of the roadway, and the roadway will be made free of power poles and roadside trees will be planted. The project period is from FY2023 to FY2032.
