Tokyo Bay Aqua-Line to Continue Time-of-day Fees on the Up-Line in FY2024. Weekends and holidays from 13:00 to 20:00: 1,200 yen for ordinary vehicles.

Posted on March 27, 2024 by News Admin

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, Chiba Prefecture, and NEXCO East Japan are conducting a social experiment of ETC time zone tolls on the Tokyo Bay Aqualine uplink (Kisarazu to Kawasaki direction), initially scheduled to last until March 31, 2024, but extended until March 31, 2025.

In response to the frequent traffic congestion caused by the concentration of traffic during certain hours on weekends and holidays, the ETC fee is discounted or increased by dividing weekends and holidays into three time zones.

The weekday fare for regular cars is 800 yen, while on weekends and holidays it will be 800 yen from 0:00 to 13:00, 1200 yen from 13:00 to 20:00, and 600 yen from 20:00 to 24:00. All types of vehicles, from mini cars to oversized cars, are eligible.

The downbound line (Kawasaki to Kisarazu) will remain as it is, with no time-of-day tolls applied.
