Tokai Bus has announced details of its “GRANDLUXE,” the first small chartered sightseeing bus in the Izu region, which will be introduced in April.
The concept is “to provide a high-quality transportation space beyond its class, overturning the image of a typical microbus. The buses are designed for travel within the Izu Peninsula, as well as between Tokyo, Odawara, Hakone, and Izu, and are expected to be used by families of three generations for anniversary trips, and by small groups of foreign visitors to Japan.
The fare is 1.5 times or more than that of a regular small chartered bus (depending on the time of year, time of day, and distance traveled). The maximum capacity is 13 passengers (10 passenger seats and 3 crew seats), with a choice of a layout that reduces the number of passenger seats to 8 to provide luggage space.
The seats are made of leather seats manufactured by a domestic manufacturer, and each seat is independent, with almost all seats facing the window. The seat pitch is over 900mm, allowing an adult male passenger to relax with the seat reclined.
In addition to a large retractable table, AC outlets (100V) and USB ports (Type-A/Type-C), there are two 19.5-inch flip-down monitors, a refrigerator, an automatic alcohol dispenser and Wi-Fi.
In addition, as a limited time offer, Shizuoka-grown tea will be provided to all visitors from April to June.
