Develop will open a container hotel, HOTEL R9 The Yard Konan (2359 Natsumi, Konan, Shiga Prefecture), on April 29. Prior to the opening, the company will start accepting reservations from 3:00 p.m. on April 22.
The “HOTEL R9 The Yard” series is a series of 82 hotels nationwide that perform disaster prevention functions in case of emergency.
The Konan branch, the fourth to open in Shiga Prefecture, is located 13 minutes from the Ritto-Konan IC of the Meishin Expressway, 18 minutes from the Ryuoh IC, and 5 minutes from Kosai Station on the JR Kusatsu Line, near Yasu River Water Park. In the event of an emergency, the guest rooms can be promptly relocated to the disaster area, and it will function as a “rescue hotel” as an evacuation center for Konan City.
A total of 38 independent guest rooms are available using construction container modules. No walls are placed between adjacent rooms to maintain quietness and privacy. The 13m2 rooms, which can accommodate up to two people, are equipped with a bed, unit bath, refrigerator/freezer, microwave oven, and humidifying air purifier, providing a simple yet comfortable environment.
Room rates range from 6,200 yen per person per night for a double room/ 8,700 yen per person per night for two people, and from 6,200 yen per person per night for a twin room/ 9,700 yen per person per night for two people. Free parking for 39 standard and light vehicles is also available.
