Tokyo Skytree Town will be full of events during GW. Taiwan Festival” where you can enjoy night market food, “Carp Streamer Festival” with approximately 2,500 carp streamers, and more!

This year’s carp streamers will be the first “White Spotted Garden Eel Streamers” featuring creatures from the Sumida Aquarium, and workshops for parents and children will also be held.

Among the highlights are the “Taiwan Festival,” where visitors can enjoy Taiwanese food and culture, and the “Carp Streamer Festival,” where approximately 1,500 carp streamers will swim at various locations in Skytree Town.

Visitors can also enjoy Taiwanese massage, fortune telling, lantern making, and other Taiwanese cultural activities in an authentic atmosphere.

In addition to collaborative menu items such as the new “Bakkozoku Brittle Skin Fish” (deep-fried squid stuffed with vegetables) and “Bursting Bullet Leek Oil Cake” made by frying leek oil cake dough and egg, the restaurant will also serve “Dai Chicken Soup” (extra large fried chicken) and Taiwanese draft beer, which can only be consumed here in Japan.

Japan’s first outdoor event in collaboration with Ningxia Night Market, one of the three major night markets in Taipei.

Tokyo Skytree Town Koinobori Festival 2024

Approximately 1,500 carp streamers were hoisted at various locations around town, including Solamachi Hiroba, the plaza at the foot of the Tokyo Sky Tree, and the adjacent Kitajuma River.

This year, the number of “Chinago Noborigo” and “Nishikianago Noborigo,” which are based on motifs of creatures living in the SUMIDA AQUARIUM, will increase by 11 each, and a “White Spotted Garden Eel,” which is also characterized by its long and slender body, will make its first appearance as well.

In addition, there will be a “Hand-painted Koinobori Workshop” at a special site (April 13 and 14), “Postal Museum Workshop” for making Koinobori with used stamps and masking tape (Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays from April 27 to May 6), “Koinobori Special Version” for making pancake food samples (April 12 to May 6), “Koinobori-like Goldfish Scooping” at Aquarium Shop AQUA FOREST (April 8 to May 6), and more. ~(April 12 – May 6), and “Koinobori-like Goldfish Scooping” at Aquarium Shop AQUA FOREST (April 8 – May 6).
