On February 1, 2024, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (Location: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Akihiko Tanaka; hereinafter referred to as “JICA”) and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (Location: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Akihiro Fukudome; hereinafter referred to as “Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation”) signed the “Agreement on Introduction of Testamentary Trust Services for Prospective Bequests,” a first for JICA. (Location: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, CEO: Akihiro Fukudome, hereinafter referred to as “Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation”).
A bequest donation is a donation made by an individual to a specific organization, etc., in whole or in part from his/her estate by will. This agreement will enable individuals who are considering making a bequest donation to JICA to use SMBC’s professional support in the preparation and execution of their wills, and to do so with peace of mind.
