Sakura City, Chiba Prefecture, lights up the cherry blossoms at Sakura Castle Ruins, one of Japan’s 100 most famous castles.

Sakura City will hold the “Sakura Castle Site Cherry Blossom Festival” from March 28 to April 2 at Sakura Castle Site Park (Kanyu-no-Machi, Jonouchi-cho, Sakura City), the only castle site in Chiba Prefecture selected as one of the “100 Great Castles of Japan.

Local specialties will be sold at the site of the castle ruins, and the cherry blossoms will be lit up from the entrance to Sakura Joshi Park to the site of the castle’s main citadel. In addition, bamboo lanterns will be set up to create a fantastic night view of the cherry blossoms.
