The Dorchester Collection opened its 10th hotel under the brand and its first in the Middle East area, The Rana (Marasi Drive, Business Bay, Dubai UAE), on February 1.
The hotel is located in Marashi Bay Marina, a 15-minute walk from Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall and a 20-minute drive from Dubai International Airport. The 30-story hotel was designed by the British architectural design organization Foster + Partners.
The Lana Promenade, located in the center of the hotel, is lined with stores and restaurants, and the rooftop infinity pool overlooks the city center and the desert behind it.
The interior design is by Parisian designer duo Gilles & Boissier. All 225 rooms will have outdoor terraces and floor-to-ceiling windows. The signature suites, Marina Duplex and Marina Terrace Suites (5 rooms in total), are two-story buildings with a vaulted corner living room and outdoor terrace on both floors.
The Marina Royal Suite, the presidential suite, also features a long balcony overlooking the Burj Khalifa. As the most luxurious suite, the two-bedroom “The Rana Royal Suite,” which occupies the north corner, is also available.
Room rates start at 3,400 dirhams for standard and 25,000 dirhams for suites (excluding tax and service charge).
There are a total of eight restaurants and bars, four of which are under the supervision of three Michelin-starred chefs: Riviera, a modern Mediterranean restaurant; High Society, a rooftop bar; Jara, a Basque restaurant; and Bonbon Café, a patisserie.
In addition, guests can use the Chacorina cigar lounge, Veranda bar, The Gallery, which includes afternoon tea, and Bitter Honey, a casual bar located in the lobby.
In addition, the first “Dior Spa” in the UAE is scheduled to open in April on the 29th floor, with five treatment rooms and one couples’ suite.
The menu includes “Icoone Therapy,” “Hydra Facial,” “Dior Micro Abrasion,” “Dior Skin Light LED Therapy Mask,” as well as the exclusive “Escal the Lana,” “Day All Stone Therapy” and “D-Sculpt.
