JAL Brand Communication has upcycled paper en route charts (aeronautical charts) that were scheduled to be discarded due to digitization and released them as three types of bags. The bags are available at the “JAL Mall Store” shopping site.
Charts are a necessity for pilots who use them to check flight routes and prepare for flights in advance. The paper charts have been used for many years, and the idea of “Why don’t we reuse them for something instead of just discarding them? Pilots and cabin attendants have been asking themselves, “Can’t we reuse the paper charts for something instead of just disposing of them?
Each bag is made of real paper charts stitched between recycled polyester fabric and TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane).
