JR Tokai will release a limited edition wristwatch commemorating the 60th anniversary of the Tokaido Shinkansen. The watch will be produced in collaboration with Seiko Watch to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Tokaido Shinkansen in 2024.
The product is based on the motif of a crewman’s wristwatch, with the typeface of the time and the red color of the second hand reproduced. On the other hand, the dial surface features metal parts depicting the Series 0 and N700S, and the scale is designed to resemble the speedometer of the Series 0 Shinkansen. The back of the watch will feature the JR Tokai logo, the words “60th anniversary of the opening of the Shinkansen” and a serial number.
The planned price is 66,000 yen, and it will be sold at “JR Tokai Railway Club” in “JR Tokai MARKET” from around April to around March 2025.
