The Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route, operated by Tateyama Kurobe Kanko, will hold the spring festival “2024 Tateyama Kurobe, Snowy Valley Festival” from April 15 to June 25.
The Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route is one of the world’s leading mountain tourism routes located in the Chubu-Sangaku National Park. From Tateyama Station (Toyama Prefecture) to Ogisawa (Nagano Prefecture), visitors can enjoy the spectacular view of nature by taking the Tateyama Kogen Bus or Tateyama Tunnel Trolley Bus.
Tateyama Murodo, the main venue for the Snow Valley Festival, has more snow than at the same time in 2023, and a high wall of snow can be expected. as of February 13, Tateyama Murodo, at an elevation of 2450m, had 600m (490cm last year), and Daikanbo, at 2316m, had 400cm (390cm last year).
Various events will be held during the period, including the “Yuki-no-Otani Walk” where you can walk through the powerful snow walls, the GW-only “Tateyama Yuki Terrace” where you can relax and enjoy the snowy scenery, the “Extension! Panorama Road” and “Yuki Fureai Hiroba” where visitors can enjoy playing in the snow by breaking down snow walls and making new paths.
