Second Roadside Station in Tateyama, Chiba! Just before opening, we took a look at “Michi no Eki Green Farm Tateyama”. Noen Cafe opens its first store in Minami-Boso.

Posted on February 14, 2024 by News Admin

The grand opening is scheduled for February 16 at 12:00 p.m., but prior to the opening, a pre-opening was held for the public from February 9 to February 13. On the final day, February 13, it was also open to the press.

Located at the tip of the Boso Peninsula, Tateyama City is blessed with a mild climate and abundant nature. In addition to its tourist attractions, the city has developed its agriculture and fisheries industries, and is working to create a “food town” by communicating its attractions, building an environment for branding, and developing processed specialty products. Green Farm Tateyama, a roadside station, is part of this policy, and will be opened as a “food and experience theme park” where visitors can experience agriculture and food, while at the same time playing a role in promoting industry by linking local tourism and the agriculture and fisheries industries.

Hands-on roadside station where you can experience agriculture and enjoy BBQ

The 22,000 m2 site will house a market and restaurant, as well as an adjoining farm where visitors can experience farming, and a large grassy area connecting the two where events such as cow milking will be held. The most recent event is scheduled for February 16 and 17. These events will be posted on SNS, so be sure to check back.

In addition, there will be a barbecue (BBQ) area where visitors can taste locally grown vegetables. The outdoor contents such as agricultural experience and BBQ are currently under preparation, so it will be some time before they can actually be enjoyed.

The museum’s market space will feature a wide variety of local produce, such as locally grown fruits and vegetables. Although this is the off-season for agricultural products at this time of year, strawberries are recommended for a while to come. These products will be tested for pesticide residues and sanitation by the Tsukuba Analysis Center’s “Direct Sales Food Safety Certification Program,” and will be certified as “Anshin Naoisho (Peace of Mind) Direct Sales Center.

In addition to vegetables and other agricultural products, the shop also offers a wide selection of brightly cut flowers, which is something that can only be found in Boso. In addition, processed goods and souvenirs made from local agricultural products, such as sweets and sake, are also available.

On the gourmet side, the popular Sodegaura restaurant “NOUEN CAFE” will open a branch in the Minami-Boso area for the first time, offering not only the popular menu of the main restaurant, but also a limited menu using gibier. At the take-out corner, visitors can enjoy soft-serve ice cream and fresh shakes made by Sudo Farm, and at Tateyama Burger, visitors can enjoy the Tateyama Gibier Burger made with wild boar meat. The information corner equipped with restrooms and large monitors, which will be the core of the roadside station, will be open 24 hours a day.
