PANNAM Travel SIM has launched “Travel Talk Switch” to save on overseas call charges.
The service allows users to make international calls on their iPhones (iOS 14 or later) at a lower rate than the rates charged by cell phone companies by installing a dedicated application. The Lite plan will be sold for 2,200 yen until the end of June as a commemorative campaign.
In addition, if you receive a call from a cell phone that has a contract with a domestic cell phone company, you will be charged for incoming calls abroad, but by using the “Travel Talk 050” function, you can save money there as well. By setting up call forwarding from your own cell phone number to the Travel Talk 050 number before leaving Japan, you can save on the cost of domestic calls. Of course, if you can have your calls forwarded directly to the 050 number, there is no need to pay for the forwarding.
In addition to low-cost calls, calls can be automatically recorded and transcribed in real time. The service is available in English, Chinese, Spanish, French, Italian, and Portuguese.
