Navitime Japan has added a function to its car navigation application “NAVITIME Drive Supporter” (Android/iOS version) that allows users to search for free or discounted parking for use at department stores and other locations.
When narrowed down from the app’s neighborhood search, the location of the parking lot is displayed on the map, and real-time availability can be checked if there is information on full vacancies.
The detailed parking lot information screen displays a list of affiliated commercial facilities and their locations, as well as details of discount conditions such as “2 hours free with purchase of 3,000 yen or more. The information on free and discounted parking is researched and maintained independently by Navitime, and corresponds to approximately 800 large commercial facilities and department stores in Japan, and approximately 1,900 affiliated parking facilities.
When searching for a commercial facility, detailed location information also provides a list of discounted parking facilities and details of the discount conditions. Parking is displayed on a map, showing the distance and location to the commercial facility, and real-time availability if there is information on vacancies.
