NEXCO Central Japan will operate 23 tollgates within its jurisdiction as ETC-only tollgates from the spring of 2024.
Toll booths to be ETC-only from spring 2024
March 13, 2024, 3:00 p.m.-: Chuo Expressway Nirasaki IC, Chubu-Chubu Expressway Masuho IC
March 22, 2024 from midnight: Kunitachi-Fuchu IC of Chuo Expressway, Takaoyama IC and Samukawa Kita IC of Ken-O Expressway
April 4, 2024 from 6:00 a.m.: Meijikan Arimatsu IC (inbound), Narumi IC (inbound), Ueda IC, Kamija Minami IC, Sennonji Minami IC, Tonda IC, Nanyo IC, Tobishima Kita IC (inbound)
April 10, 2024 from 6:00 a.m.: Shin-Meishin Komono IC, Tokai Ring Road Toin IC, Daian IC, Yoro IC, Ogaki Nishi IC
April 11, 2024 from 6:00 a.m.: Tokai Loop Road, Kani Mitake IC and Setohinano IC
Meijikan Arimatsu IC and Narumi IC (outbound) are operating as ETC-only tollgates.
In conjunction with this, ETC-only signs will be installed on the main expressway line near the IC and on guide signs on the open road.
If you use ETC by mistake when it is not available (e.g., ETC on-board unit not installed or ETC card not inserted), you must proceed to the lane marked “Support” or “ETC/Support” without backing up, stop, and follow the instructions of the attendant.
