First “Six Senses Kyoto” to open in Japan on April 23. 81 rooms including suites in Higashiyama

Posted on February 1, 2024 by News Admin

Wealth Management will open Six Senses Kyoto (431 Myohoin side-machi, Higashiyama-ku, Kyoto) on April 23.

Six Senses is IHG Hotels & Resorts’ natural luxury brand hotel. Six Senses Kyoto will be the brand’s first hotel in Japan.

The 81 rooms and suites, ranging in size from 42 to 238 m2, are arranged to offer views of the serene courtyard with its seasonal scenery, the garden of the adjacent shrine, and the cityscape of Kyoto. The top-of-the-line suite, the “Three-Bedroom Penthouse Suite,” located on the top floor, can accommodate group travelers and requests for private use of the top floor along with the rooftop terrace.

The hotel was designed by the design firm BLINK Design Group. The hotel design incorporates traditional Japanese architectural styles while taking advantage of space, privacy, and views, and is based on the concept of “elegance” of the Heian period, with accents of the world of “The Tale of Genji”, animals such as rabbits depicted in the national treasure “Choju-giga” scrolls from Kozanji Temple, and art based on Japanese folk tales and folktales. The artwork is based on Japanese folklore and folktales.

In addition to traditional hot bath facilities, the spa features an indoor pool, Kyoto’s only pool dedicated to Watts (underwater bodywork), a state-of-the-art gym, and the Biohack Recovery Lounge, a facility dedicated to yoga, meditation, and aerial yoga.

Two restaurants, an all-day dining restaurant and a counter-only omakase-style sushi restaurant, also offer terrace seating and access to a cocktail lounge and bar featuring European and Japanese cocktails through a garden pathway.

The Higashiyama district where the hotel will be located is within easy access to a variety of activities, and tourist attractions such as Myohoin Temple, Kyoto National Museum, and Sanjusangendo are within walking distance.
