The Yokohama Municipal Transportation Bureau, Sumitomo Mitsui Card, Visa Worldwide Japan, JCB, OMRON SOCIAL SOLUTIONS, and QUADRAC will conduct a verification experiment of the “stella transit” service provided by Sumitomo Mitsui Card at all 40 stations of the Yokohama Municipal Subway by the end of 2024, The experiment will be conducted at all 40 stations of the Yokohama Municipal Subway by the end of 2024, using “stera transit” provided by Sumitomo Mitsui Card, and will test a ride service using touch-sensitive cards (credit, debit, and prepaid cards) and smartphones with the cards installed.
Passengers can pass through the ticket gates by touching their credit/debit/prepaid card or smart phone to the dedicated reader.
