IKEA Japan will open its first IKEA store in the northern Kanto region, IKEA Maebashi (2008 Kamesato-cho, Maebashi, Gunma Prefecture), on January 18.

The two-story floor with an area of approximately 10,000 m2 will feature approximately 9,500 home furnishings products, including furniture and sundries, and will also sell approximately 150 food products when it opens.

It will also feature IKEA Japan’s first “Bistro window. In addition to IKEA’s popular plant-based soft-serve ice cream, hot dogs, and cinnamon rolls, the store sells plant-based baby sponge cake, which is limited to IKEA Maebashi.

They can stop by casually and buy Ikea food from outside the store to take home.

IKEA Maebashi, as “the IKEA store with the lowest environmental impact in Japan,” consolidates the various sustainable initiatives that the company has undertaken to date. IKEA Maebashi will promote environmentally friendly store operations, such as reducing greenhouse gas emissions, decarbonization, and footprint.

To commemorate the opening, the first 1,000 customers will receive a “Thank you for your purchase! IKEA Maebashi original tote bag” with a design of the Gunma mountains will be given to the first 1,000 customers who are IKEA Family members, register IKEA Maebashi as a “nearby store” and make a purchase of 10,000 yen or more per receipt including tax.

From January 18 to 21, IKEA Maebashi will also distribute “Thanks for Coming! IKEA Maebashi Original Sticker” limited to 2,000 for each day.
