JR Tokai is conducting a digital stamp rally, “Let’s have fun and learn! Waku-Tetsu Stamp Rally” until February 29. Entry through the website is required to participate.
Stamps are available at the Railway Museum (3-47 Taisei-cho, Omiya-ku, Saitama City, Saitama Prefecture), the Linear Railroad Museum (3-2-2 Kinjo-futo, Minato-ku, Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture), and the Kyoto Railway Museum (Kanki-ji-cho, Shimogyo-ku, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture), and on board Tokaido Shinkansen trains (one stamp each from Nagoya to Tokyo and Kyoto). The museums have a 2-D code reading system in the museum. Visitors can take a quiz at the museums by reading the 2D codes inside the museums, and at the Shinkansen train stations by measuring the speed based on location information.
If you collect even one stamp in the Shinkansen train, you will receive a digital wallpaper on the spot, and if you collect two stamps in the museum, you will receive a replica commemorative ticket at the museum counter. If you obtain a total of five stamps, you will receive a Tokaido Shinkansen moquette neck pillow in the form of a postage stamp at a later date.
Those who collect five stamps will be selected by lottery to participate in a ride on the superconducting linear train at the Yamanashi Proving Ground and a special class on the Chuo Shinkansen Project. The program is open to students living in Japan (from elementary school to university or vocational school), but elementary school students and those who need assistance must be accompanied by a companion. The program will be held once on April 4 and once on April 5.
