World Heritage and Mossman Valley walks, secluded celebrity hotels, and restaurants on board! Where to go on your Cairns trip?

Posted on January 7, 2024 by News Admin

A one-day World Heritage walking tour with a guide, where you can learn about history and culture! This day we visited Mossman Gorge, a World Natural Heritage site in Daintree Public Park, which belongs to the “Wet Tropics of Queensland,” the oldest tropical rainforest in the world, which was registered in 1988. The area is managed by the Kuku Yalanji people. Visit the Mossman Gorge Cultural Centre, which is managed by the Kuku Yalanji people. Here you can learn about the culture that has been passed down from generation to generation with the “Dreamtime Walk Tour” (90 AUD for adults, 45 AUD for children). The guided tour includes a lecture with demonstrations on how they have lived in harmony with the forest. There are many surprises, such as the meaning of using dyes made from natural materials to make patterns, insect bites, and plants that foam like soap! At the end of the tour, bush tea and damper will be served, so you can enjoy a little tea party! Along with the tour, we recommend visiting the gift store. Along with the tour, the gift shop is also highly recommended. It offers more products with traditional art than anywhere else, and all of them are stylish!

Go to SILKY OAKS LOUGE, a celebrity hotel connected to the ground from the rainforest. An ideal holiday is here! We also visited “SILKY OAKS LODGE,” a secluded luxury resort hotel in the Daintree. Treehouses made from locally grown timber with hammocks swinging on the veranda provide an unforgettable stay in a World Heritage site. Lunch at “the Treehouse Restaurant,” which takes advantage of its prime location with a tropical rainforest in front of you, is also featured. Enjoy creative cuisine with the sound of birdsong and the murmuring of the Mosman River as background music. I personally think this is the No. 1 resort I would like to stay at, both in terms of the rooms and the food.

In Port Douglas, toast with beer! Elegant time with high tea at a 5-star hotel Port Douglas is the next port town we visited after Mosman Valley. It is a port town about an hour’s drive from Cairns. Many privately owned boats are moored in the open harbor. After a relaxing drink at Hemingway’s Brewery facing the harbor, it is recommended to head into town. Port Douglas is also famous for its 4-mile beach. So we decided to take the trail from “Flagstaff Hill Lookout” to the ocean. It’s a great after-dinner workout, and the photo spot makes for a great photo op. After the trail, we headed straight to the Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort Port Douglas to cool down at this 5-star beachfront resort with a pool right in front of our room and seamless access to the 4-mile beach.
