Cairns direct flights are easier than you can imagine! On the day of arrival, you’ll have a cafe breakfast, a market, and a serious morning activity!

Posted on January 3, 2024 by News Admin

First, let’s get hungry! Mug up a café menu using local ingredients while watching the ocean! Morning activities in Cairns are held at cafes with a view of the ocean. In fact, Cairns people love open-air cafes! The “Wharf One Cafe” that we visited this time is of course also open to natural light and comfortable sea breezes. This quaint café, made from upcycled wood from an old wharf building, has a great location with a view of the water and mangrove forests in the back. Of course, all of the menu items using local ingredients purchased directly from the producers are outstanding in taste & appearance.

The morning activities are coming to an end, and we return to the ocean side to relax at the Cairns Esplanade Lagoon, a public swimming pool! The last part of morning activities and walking around the city. Here are some of the places we stopped by before returning to the ocean side “Esplanade”. First, we went to “the source BULK FOOD” where you can get nuts and chocolates in bulk. This is a great place to get ingredients you like in bulk and to keep your stomachs full. By the way, if you have bottles on hand, you should try the Filtered Water Refill Station. One thing about Cairns is that you can drink water as it is. Stations are located here and there, so you should definitely make use of them! By the way, the water is at room temperature. On the way, we also found “The Dairy Mungalli Biodynamic” where you can enjoy ice cream made from milk squeezed at a dairy farm in Mungalli on the Atherton Plateau! We asked the staff about their popular flavors and they told us “Daintree Forest” with Davidson’s Plum as a secret ingredient and “honey & macadamia” with locally produced honey and macadamia. We arrived safely at the starting point, ESPLANADE. Here is another treat. Why don’t you take a dip in the public swimming pool “Cairns Esplanade Lagoon” at the end of your morning activities? While lockers are available for a fee, admission to the lagoon, which utilizes seawater, is free. Lifeguards are always on duty to ensure your safety. Moreover, it is open from 6:00 am to 9:00 pm. In the morning, there are few visitors, so you can enjoy a relaxing swim. Of course, showers and toilets are available. Eating and drinking are prohibited in the pool, but eating and drinking are allowed in the grassy area and BBQ area (alcohol is not allowed).
