A Disney Pilgrimage in 2024 will bring you good luck! Check out the New Year’s highlights and things to do at Tokyo Disney Resort in 3 minutes before coming to the park!

Posted on December 27, 2023 by News Admin

Tokyo Disney Resort will hold special New Year’s events from January 1 to 8, 2024. Mickey Mouse dressed in kimono and kadomatsu decorated with dragon motifs, the zodiac sign for 2024, will welcome guests with an atmosphere befitting the beginning of the New Year.

In this issue, we will take a quick look at some of the topics you should keep in mind at your New Year’s resort!

The New Year’s Greeting is an absolute must at the Disney Resort during the New Year’s holidays. Tokyo Disneyland will hold it once a day on the parade route, and Tokyo DisneySea will hold it twice a day at Mediterranean Harbor.

Both will feature Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and other Disney friends. In addition to wearing kimonos, for the first time in four years, Tokyo Disneyland will have a car with Disney friends in front of and behind the float, and a 12-member band will also appear, and new music will also be unveiled!

If you want to get into the New Year’s spirit, take a picture with the New Year’s decorations! At Tokyo Disneyland, kadomatsu will be decorated at the entrance of World Bazaar. At Tokyo DisneySea, Kadomatsu will be decorated at the entrance of MiraCosta Avenue. Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and Mushu, the dragon from the movie “Mulan,” are designed to represent the Chinese zodiac sign of 2024, the Year of the Dragon, so please take a closer look!

And New Year’s is all about ozoni, isn’t it? You can enjoy this at both parks. At Tokyo Disneyland, the yuzu-scented Zoni Bowl (400 yen plus tax) is available at Restaurant Hokusai, and at Tokyo DisneySea, the Zoni Bowl with grilled rice cake and duck meatballs (700 yen plus tax) is available at Restaurant Sakura. Both bowls can be changed from the miso soup included with the meal.

Of course, we must not forget the “Matcha Jelly & Black Sesame Mousse” (550 yen for a single item, plus 550 yen with a souvenir cup), the perfect sweet for the New Year! It is a Japanese sweet with a dark green tea and black sesame flavor in a teacup-style Japanese cup. Available from December 26.

Of course, New Year’s items are one of the lucky charms. You definitely want to get them at Disney Pilgrimage. We have a wide variety of Daruma and dragon designs, so be sure to find your favorites for your home.

And for transportation between the parks and hotels, be sure to ride the Resort Liner (Type C) Green on the Disney Resort Line! The shiny new train will be in service from January 1, 2024, and will take you to the two parks. Of course, in addition to the “Free Ticket” with the same design, there are also two types of New Year’s designs available! Be sure to get one to commemorate your New Year’s ride and visit the parks.
