Fujikyu Group’s Hakone Yusen will begin operation of its new vessel, Hakone Yusen SORAKAZE, on February 23, 2024, “Mt.

The route is Hakone Sekisho Ato Port – Moto Hakone Port – Hakoneen Port – Hakone Sekisho Ato Port (approximately 40 minutes), with 10 departures per day from 9:20 am to 4:00 pm (subject to change depending on season and weather conditions).

The ship was designed by Yasuyuki Kawanishi, the designer of the JR West Group’s SEA SPICA high-speed ship and WEST EXPRESS Ginga express train, and is a major renovation of the existing HAKONE MARU ship. The concept of the new ship is “a green park floating on Lake Ashi in Hakone.

The boat offers seasonal views of Hakone and Lake Ashi, an outdoor deck covered with natural grass, and a stern covered with natural ivy, creating a space in harmony with nature. The outside of the ship is decorated with “mizuhiki-style objet d’art” and incorporates motifs such as Fujiyama and the torii gate of Hakone Shrine in a Japanese style.

On the 13th of each month, the boat will operate in conjunction with the Kutouryuu Shrine’s monthly festival.

The ship features various types of seating, including a kids’ space where passengers can take off their shoes and relax, hanging chairs, and swing-style benches, etc. The first floor is barrier-free, and there are wheelchair spaces and multipurpose toilets to ensure a comfortable stay for all passengers.

Boarding fees will be announced on the website as soon as they are determined.
