JAL’s first ever private Business Class cabin with a door! World premiere of a space with ample storage, power supply, and a high sense of envelopment I saw the first A350-1000 for international flights.

On December 13 (local time), JAL and Airbus unveiled the actual A350-1000, JAL’s new international aircraft, in Toulouse, France. The aircraft will enter service on January 24, 2024, on routes from Haneda to New York (JL006/JL005).

The interior of the aircraft will be designed with traditional Japanese beauty in mind, in keeping with the interior of the A350-900 aircraft already in service on domestic routes and the domestic-spec Boeing 787-8 aircraft. All classes of seats have been redesigned, with a total of 239 seats, including 6 first class seats, 54 business class seats, 24 premium economy seats, and 155 economy seats.

Although JAL’s existing business class service was highly acclaimed, it was found to be out of step with market needs due to the recent popularity of private rooms offered by other airlines. Therefore, JAL adopted a private room with a door for the first time in JAL’s history in Business Class, just as it did in First Class.

While setting the wall height at approximately 132 cm higher than those of other companies, the company is focused on “not isolating passengers while maintaining a high degree of privacy.

The seat width is approximately 56 cm and the maximum bed length is approximately 198 cm. As in first class, the seats are made of pressure-dispersing material to enhance sleeping comfort.

As in First Class, the overhead luggage rack in the center has been removed to enhance the openness of the cabin (it is provided in the window row), but the cabin also features a large amount of storage space, including a dedicated wardrobe where clothes can be stored on hangers and legroom that can fit one carry-on suitcase.

For example, if a business traveler forgets to remove documents or electronic devices from his/her bag or suitcase, he/she would have to get up from his/her seat and pull them out from the overhead luggage rack. The storage space allows you to concentrate on your private space to the fullest. Of course, this feature will be equally beneficial for leisure travelers.

It is similar to first class in that it has a universal power outlet, USB Type-A/C charging port, and wireless wireless wireless charging pad with no contact points, and a 24-inch personal monitor with 4K resolution.

The center two seats have an electric partition between them, and if the passengers next to each other are acquaintances, the partition can be lowered to create a private space for the two people sitting next to each other.
