The JIMOTOMade “Lucky Charms” were inspired by the “Fukudama,” a traditional doll in the Gion area of Kyoto, and were developed jointly with Shimada Kouen Ningyo Kobo, a long-established company that produces traditional Gosho dolls. This original item is like a lucky charm, and you will not know which “lucky charm” is inside until you open the red-and-white “Fukudama” capsule.

The three standard types, “Gosho Ningyo Charm Hirako,” “Lucky Charm Koma-Inu Clay Bell,” and “Lucky Charm Maneki-Neko Clay Bell,” are now joined by the “Lucky Charm Kouchin Year of the Dragon” zodiac sign for the year 2024, which will be on sale until February 3, 2024. Each customer can purchase up to one per store until the dragon is sold out.

The “Lucky Charms Charms: Year of the Dragon” is a blue dragon clay bell clad in Starbucks green. The dragon is a symbol of wealth, and the blue dragon, one of the four divine beasts, is said to be the guardian deity of the Higashiyama area of Kyoto, where it lives on the eastern river.

Each Fukudama capsule features a Senja-fuda sticker with a different design for each store. The “crawling child” and “beckoning cat clay bell” feature a Starbucks green apron, while the “Koma-inu clay bell” features a Starbucks green body covering with a plum tree. Each charm also comes with a wooden tag.
