JR East will conduct the “JRE POINT Upgrade Half-price Campaign” to offer a discount on the Green Car of the Tohoku Shinkansen.
JRE POINT Upgrade” (Shinkansen e-ticket service), which allows passengers to use their accumulated JRE POINT to upgrade a standard reserved seat on the Shinkansen to a green car, can be exchanged for rides from January 11 to 31, 2024, at half the regular points.
Eligible trains are the “Yamabiko” and “Nasuno” trains that start or end at Sendai Station. For example, the Yamabiko train can be upgraded for 1,500 points instead of the usual 3,000 points, and the Nasuno train can be upgraded for 750 points instead of the usual 1,500 points.
The application period for campaign redemption points is from December 11 to January 31, 2024.
