JICA President Akihiko Tanaka met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tunisia Osman Gerandi at JICA Headquarters on June 2.
At the beginning of the meeting, President Tanaka made a statement to Foreign Minister Djerandi that the Minister’s visit to Japan was a very important opportunity for deepening cooperation between Japan and Tunisia, and that he would like to continue to strengthen cooperation with Tunisia on the occasion of TICAD 8 to be held in Tunisia.
In response, Minister Djerandi expressed his gratitude for JICA’s cooperation in human resource development and infrastructure development. The two ministers also exchanged views on cooperation for the promotion of sustainable development and reforms in Tunisia in the context of various crises in the international community, such as the new coronavirus infection and the conflict in Ukraine.
