JICA President Shinichi Kitaoka met with President Vyosa Osmani Sadriu Kosovo on July 26 in Tokyo.
At the beginning of the meeting, President Kitaoka congratulated Kosovo’s judo athletes (women’s 48 kg division) on their gold medal victory at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. President Osmani expressed his gratitude for JICA’s cooperation with Kosovo and expressed his desire to continue strengthening relations with the country as a reliable partner. The participants then exchanged views on cooperation in the environmental field, including air pollution, waste management, disaster management (floods and forest fires), and tourism development, as well as on future cooperation possibilities, such as the acceptance of foreign students and personnel exchange.
JICA will continue to cooperate with the Republic of Kosovo to contribute to the stabilization of its economic and social infrastructure for sustainable nation-building.
