JICA President Shinichi Kitaoka met with Armenian President Armen Sarkisian in Tokyo on July 26.
President Kitaoka mentioned that a memorial to the victims of the Great East Japan Earthquake was erected next to the memorial to the victims of the Spitak earthquake, which he visited during his business trip to Armenia, and that friendly and mutually sympathetic relations have been established between the two countries, which have many natural disasters in common. Regarding JICA’s efforts in Armenia, he stated that JICA will continue its cooperation with Armenia, focusing on infrastructure development and human resource development. He also expressed his hope for further two-way dialogue between the two countries in order to expand cooperative relations between them.
