SwitchBot’s Smart Lock now has a Pro model. 15 unlocking methods, Matter support

Posted on November 22, 2023 by News Admin

SwitchBot has begun accepting pre-orders for its SwitchBot Lock Pro smart lock product. The price is 15,980 yen. The product will be available on the official website, Amazon, and electronics retailers.

A higher-end model of the SwitchBot lock, it supports 15 different unlocking methods, including smartphone and Apple Watch. Combined with a fingerprint pad (sold separately), the lock can also be unlocked by fingerprint or password input. Of course, the original physical key can also be used.

The standard model required S/M/L size attachments to be replaced according to the shape of the thumbturn, but the Pro model is infinitely adjustable from 0 to 23 mm, so it fits any key securely.

The thumbturn part uses a “quick key” that can be opened and closed with a single touch. The main body is made of an aerospace-grade aluminum alloy, and the battery cover is a magnetic cover that is easy to replace.

Power is supplied by four included AA dry cell batteries or an optional rechargeable battery. The dry cell batteries need to be replaced after approximately 270 days, and the batteries need to be replaced after approximately one year. Two batteries are included in the set, so they can be used even if one of the batteries runs out.

It also supports Matter, a common standard for smart home products. When connected to the SwitchBot Hub 2 (sold separately), it can work with Apple’s Home App and other smart devices.

The product and SwitchBot IoT devices will be available at special prices during Amazon’s big Amazon Black Friday sale from November 24 to December 1.
