Ace has released four types of travel accessories made from the seat moquette fabric of the Green Car, which has fewer seats, from the “N700 Series typeA Tokaido Shinkansen Journey Series,” which upcycles waste materials from the Tokaido Shinkansen.
The new items are a smartphone shoulder, a zabuton, a cushion cover, and a gadget pouch. All items are printed with the Tokaido Shinkansen Series N700 typeA logo mark as proof that they are JR Tokai-approved upcycled items.
Because of the small number of seats in the Green Car, only about 15% of the Green Car’s moquette fabric is available for each car body. The fabric is based on brown, and the fur in the dark brown square pattern area is cut short, giving it a three-dimensional feel to the touch.
The smartphone shoulder has a hook-and-loop closure at the entrance for easy loading and unloading. The vertical shape allows a smartphone to be stored comfortably. It also has an interior divider pocket to neatly separate small items of luggage. Priced at 11,000 yen.
The zabuton is approximately 4 mm thick and can be used for long hours of desk work. This item allows users to feel the atmosphere of Shinkansen travel even in their chairs at home or at work. The price is 14,300 yen.
The cushion cover can be used to hold a 45 cm square cushion. The contents can be taken in and out through the zipper. The price is 14,300 yen.
The gadget pouch has an abundance of divider pockets with a divider board. It can hold a mobile battery, IC recorder, SD card, etc. The cushioned moquette fabric softens impact. It is priced at 16,500 yen.
