Kakogawa City, Hyogo Prefecture, announced that “Kako-chan,” a character drawn by Kakogawa Tourism Ambassador and illustrator Ito Noizi, has become the “Kakogawa City Town Attraction Character.
Kako-chan” is a cheerful girl who loves music. Many motifs originating from Kakogawa, such as “Welpy,” the symbolic character of Kakogawa City, are used, and the background is decorated with a sarasouju tree in bloom at Tsurinji Temple.
From now on, they will appear in the city’s publications and other media. Private businesses and other entities in the city can also use the image if they apply for it. Also, on November 1, a new large PR signboard with “Kako-chan” on it was installed on top of the Sunrise Kakogawa building south of JR Kakogawa Station.
