Tokyo Christmas Market 2023 to be held at Meiji Jingu Gaien. German food such as glühwein and “Steiff” teddy bears.

Posted on November 5, 2023 by News Admin

The Tokyo Christmas Market Executive Committee will hold “Tokyo Christmas Market 2023 in Meiji Jingu Gaien” at the General Ballroom (2-3 Kasumigaoka-cho, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo) from November 23 to December 25. Prior to this, tickets will go on sale at 11:11 a.m. on November 1.

The venue was changed due to renovation work at Hibiya Park, the site of the previous year’s event. This year, the event will be held in Meiji Jingu Gaien, between the “Icho Namiki” trees and the Seitoku Memorial Picture Gallery. A 14-meter-high “Christmas pyramid” and a live stage will be set up, and restaurants and general merchandise stores will gather in the image of a hutte where visitors can feel the warmth of the trees.

The number of stores is the largest ever with 28 food and beverage outlets, 7 light food and beverage outlets, and 18 general merchandise outlets. Visitors can enjoy German specialties such as glühwein, sausages, pretzels, and beef stew. In addition, there will be booths selling sweets by pastry chef Hirohiro Tsujiguchi, chef Toshihiko Arumozuka, and chef Koji Tsuchiya.

In addition to Christmas Market exclusive goods, teddy bears from German stuffed animal manufacturer Steiff, Disney 100th anniversary teddy bears, and the Japan-exclusive “Little Santa 2023 “Belle”” will also be available.

The Christmas live stage will feature “DIE KIRHDORFER,” the official band of the German beer festival “Oktoberfest. Other artists will perform daily on the stage, including a chorus from the “Sunnyside Gospel Club”. The lighting ceremony will be held in front of the Christmas pyramid on November 23 at around 16:30.

Tickets can be purchased in advance from the “kkday” ticket sales website (day-of-performance tickets available). Only those who purchase tickets in advance will be able to get one of the original mugs in burgundy or navy at random.
