The Hokkaido Zone will feature soft-serve ice cream, yogurt, and local sake tastings! Visitors can enjoy food, sightseeing, and culture with their eyes and tastebuds!

Tourism Expo Japan 2023 Osaka-Kansai, one of the world’s largest travel events, is being held at INTEX Osaka (Suminoe-ku, Osaka City) for four days from October 26 to 29.

In the Hokkaido Zone, visitors can enjoy a variety of Hokkaido’s attractions, including sightseeing, food, and culture.

The main booth will feature a stage in the center of the booth, where a variety of events will be held each day. The stage will be used to introduce information on Hokkaido’s sightseeing spots, food, wine, and local sake, as well as to hold quiz competitions. At the food corner to the left of the stage, tastings of yogurt, local sake, soft-serve ice cream, etc. are offered. Around 100 numbered tickets will be handed out for each session to accommodate each time.

Behind the stage, hands-on work shocks such as Ainu design necklaces, wooden bookmarks, and original hakka sprays will be available. In addition, visitors who register as a friend on the official HOKKAIDO LOVE! LINE account will be able to participate in a “Gara-pon” lottery to win goods from Kyun-chan, Hokkaido’s tourism PR character.

In the back of the stage, booths are set up by the North, East, South, and Central Hokkaido regions, JR Hokkaido, and Hokkaido Airport, which operates major airports in Hokkaido. The latest information on sightseeing and tours, including Tobetsu-cho, which has become a hot topic due to its top growth rate of foreign visitors to Japan, will be introduced. Visitors can also ask for advice on travel to Hokkaido this winter.

Next to the Hokkaido booth, Upopoi has a booth. Here, Ainu culture will be introduced as well as the actual Upopoi. Traditional Ainu instruments will be played and traditional Ainu dances will be performed. In addition, visitors can learn the Ainu language and try on Ainu costumes, making the booth a mini Upopoi. Events will also be held on the stage of the Hokkaido booth.

In the Hokkaido Zone, Bibai City, Furano/Biei, Mikasa City, and other cities will also set up booths to provide tourist information. Each city will be giving away goods and wine tastings.

A stamp rally will be held at five points in the Hokkaido Zone. Don’t forget to check out the stamp rally, which offers prizes such as Hokkaido’s specialties.
