Tourism Expo Japan 2023 Osaka-Kansai, one of the world’s largest travel events, is being held at INTEX Osaka (Suminoe-ku, Osaka City) for four days from October 26 to 29.
In the special feature area in Hall 6B, a starry sky tourism corner is available to introduce tours and local information to enjoy the starry sky.
The joint booth of the “Astronomical Kingdom of Okayama” Promotion Council and Ibara City, Okayama Prefecture, introduces the attractions of Ibara City, where visitors can enjoy a starry sky on a cosmic level. A major feature of the booth is that visitors can enjoy a small planetarium where they can experience the actual starry sky.
In addition, original goods will be distributed and a T-shirt in collaboration with Carp Boy, the mascot of the Hiroshima Carp, will be on sale to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the naming of the asteroid Carp.
The Tokyo Kozushima booth proposes a new way to enjoy Kozushima by combining daytime sightseeing, focusing on the sea and nature of Kozushima, with nighttime activities to enjoy the starry sky. The booth will also offer a guided tour of Kozushima, where visitors can learn more about the island’s starry skies. In addition, original goods such as clear files will be distributed.
At the sola travel club booth of Nippon Travel Agency, seminars and hands-on events related to the starry skies and space will be held in the theater inside the booth in connection with the starry sky tourism corner. There will also be a raffle drawing to win a Vixen astronomical telescope and other luxury goods. In addition, there will be a “space store” selling space food and space goods, so those interested in space as well as the starry skies are encouraged to visit the booth.
