Combining Sightseeing and Remote Work! What is the Attraction of Workcation in Yamaguchi and Okinawa?

Posted on November 2, 2023 by News Admin

Tourism Expo Japan 2023 Osaka-Kansai, one of the world’s largest travel events, is being held at INTEX Osaka (Suminoe-ku, Osaka City) for four days from October 26 to 29.

Yamaguchi and Okinawa Prefectures, which are making efforts to promote work vacations in Japan, have set up booths in the Work Vacation Corner in the Special Feature Area in Hall 6B and are introducing their attractions.

The Yamaguchi Prefecture booth introduced new work vacation initiatives in the prefecture. A typical work vacation refers to a trip combining sightseeing and remote work, where the traveler combines sightseeing and work in a destination for a certain period of time.

In contrast, Yamaguchi Prefecture is promoting a program that matches work vacationers with local companies, leading to new encounters and new business for both parties. In addition, visitors who follow the Yamaguchi Workcation SNS will receive sweets and other specialties of Yamaguchi Prefecture.

The joint booth of Okinawa Prefecture and Okinawa Resort Workcation Promotion Council was created in the image of the Okinawan sea. The booth introduces work vacation initiatives and information on Okinawa, a popular tourist destination.

In particular, the seminar will provide detailed information on how resort hotels and other facilities handle work vacations, which will be useful for those who are considering taking a work vacation in Okinawa. In addition, information on internships and job fairs for tourism personnel in Okinawa will also be provided, so those interested should visit the site.
